I'm an IMPOSTER!

I don't look like a Yogi, I don't feel like a Yogi, I don't go on spiritual retreats, I don't know enough about Yoga. How will I ever be a Yoga teacher?!
When I first decided to take my Yoga teacher training I thought that it would be just for myself. I wanted to deepen my personal knowledge and really understand the different lineages of Yoga; where it came from and who created it. I wanted to awaken my own spirituality, but I never thought of sharing it with the world.
After about a year of investing my ALL into this, it's finally time that I just do it. I am going to start teaching my very own Yoga classes. If we just dream, and hope, and wish things will happen for us, they won't. We actually have to light the fire beneath us and just fly. Although I am terrified and have a really deep fear of the unknown, I am going to close my eyes, take a deep breath and trust in myself. I know who I am and I know my strengths well enough to know that I can do this. There is so much beauty beyond our fears. We just have to climb up the steep hill, and maybe fall back all the way down to the bottom a few times before we are able to reach the top and see clearly.

Someone once gave me a good technique that I like to apply to almost everything from the big decisions, to the every day tasks I have to complete. I don't
know the formal name for it, but I like to call it the 5 second roll. You close your eyes, take a deep breath in and count backwards from five. After you count one, you just do the thing that you are scared of doing, or don't feel like doing. I literally use this strategy in the mornings when I want to wake up at 6am and get a short workout in before I have to go to work. When my alarm
rings, before I push "snooze", I take a breath, count 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, exhale and jump out of bed. It works for about almost anything! Try it out next time you feel stuck or unmotivated to do something.
It is so important to align our actions with our thoughts and desires so that we trust ourselves. We don't want to keep letting ourselves down because it just leads us down a path of self doubt and disappointment. So, I hope I was able to inspire you with this post to just go ahead and do the thing you are scared to do. I promise you, it is worth it!
With gratitude always,
Cassandra ♡
